Jane Murphy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She completed her undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University with a major in Spanish and minor in Psychology. She received her Master of Social Work degree (MSW) from the University of Georgia in 1986.
Jane has worked with children, adults and geriatrics throughout. She has worked with pediatric and adult oncology in hospital settings and has worked in both palliative and terminal care in Atlanta, Connecticut and Nashville. Additionally, she has worked in community mental health and private practice. She specializes in depression, anxiety, grief and bipolar disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. She has specialized experience in assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, safety planning, chronic illness support and end of life care.
Jane uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Supportive Therapy, Grief Work, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy in her practice. She has a warm and non-judgmental style and uses humor when appropriate to build relationships with her clients. Jane is accepting clients of all ages and is an ally of the LGBTQIA community.
