Professional Summary
Nuseybe Yagmur is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern and graduate student at Northwestern University. She is passionate about creating a warm, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered throughout their healing journey. Nuseybe is currently training to work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, relationship, and family concerns, as well as adults on the autism spectrum. She is also interested in supporting pregnant and postpartum women as they face the emotional and psychological challenges that can come with this life transition.
Her clinical interests include trauma-informed care, mood and anxiety-related disorders, and interpersonal concerns. Nuseybe takes an individualized approach to therapy, drawing from person-centered values and incorporating elements from exposure-based techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theory, and family systems therapy. She is especially drawn to approaches that emphasize safety, connection, and the client’s inner strengths as tools for healing.
Nuseybe is committed to practicing through a multicultural and social justice lens, honoring each client’s full identity and life experiences. She provides counseling in both English and Turkish and values creating a space where people from all backgrounds feel safe and understood.
Outside of her clinical work, she plans to pursue training in EMDR to better support individuals healing from trauma and overwhelming life experiences.
