Jason Spencer, MS, LCPC
Jason Spencer is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois having worked for the last 11 years as a counselor. He has worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family problems, communication issues, codependency and addictions. Jason also has worked with clients who have experienced different forms of trauma in their lives. Jason’s counseling style is eclectic meaning he borrows from a variety of treatment modalities for whatever best suits you as a client. Jason believes in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and he does not believe in stigmatizing labels. Jason’s approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and solution-focused therapy.
Jason is a Person-Centered therapist, focusing on you as a person, he will meet you exactly where you are with no judgment and no specific expectations of how you might approach therapy. Jason also believes that every client is the expert on themselves. As your therapist Jason will simply guide you on your life path, but you choose what path to take and he will follow you. Jason believes that the answers to your problems lie within you and he will be asking you questions that help you to come to your own conclusions on specific issues that are being addressed in therapy.
Every therapist has had his or her own journey learning to embrace the pain that life can bring at times. The more we try to escape from pain, the more pain we bring upon ourselves.
