Gina earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, beginning her career in 2013.
Gina has experience working with adults suffering from depressive and mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, low self-esteem & self-efficacy, suicidal thoughts, self-injurious behaviors, substance use, stress management & coping skills, grief, intellectual & developmental disabilities, and psychotic disorders. She has worked in community mental health, with experience in individual therapy, advocacy, empowerment, and crisis management. Additionally, she has led groups for depression, dual diagnosis, crisis prevention, and music therapy.
Gina uses a non-judgmental and collaborative approach to therapy, empowering and assisting clients to grow to their full potential, while finding peace and hope in their lives. She believes in a strong therapeutic relationship and treating an individual holistically, allowing the client’s needs to guide sessions and their recovery. She utilizes evidence-based practices of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also incorporates Experiential Therapy and utilizes homework to encourage her clients to gain insight into their struggles and strengths outside of the office.
